November 2023 - CAMBRIDGE STANDING TALL PROJECT
Both Buckden CE Primary and Great Wilbraham CE Primary are taking part in the Cambridge Standing Tall Project.
Overview
In spring 2024, Cambridge will be host to 40 ginormous Giraffe sculptures, forming a spectacular free art trail.
Wild in Art is teaming up once again with Break and Cambridge BID to bring a second Wild in Art event to the city after the huge success of Cows About Cambridge in 2021.
Each large sculpture will be designed and decorated by talented artists and they will be joined by a mini herd of Giraffes, decorated by local schoolchildren and community groups involved in the trail’s learning programme.
The towering trail will be completely free to discover from March to June in 2024 and will encourage visitors to gaze up at spectacular artwork and explore new places while supporting Break, a charity working in Cambridgeshire to raise the aspirations of the county’s young care leavers.

September 2023 - PRIMARY SCIENCE QUALITY MARK (PSQM) SUCCESS!!!!!
We are pleased to announce that both Buckden CE Primary Academy and Great Wilbraham CE Primary Academy have both been awarded the PSQM Gilt.
This is an exceptional achievement for both academies and is a testament to the quality of the science provision at both academies.
‘By enabling effective science leadership, PSQM is powering the potential of all children to see the relevance and importance of science in their lives, now and in the future. Schools that have achieved a Primary Science Quality Mark have demonstrated a significant commitment to science leadership, teaching and learning and the profile and quality of science in each accredited school is very high. Science subject leaders, their colleagues, headteachers, children, parents and governors should be very proud.”
Helen Sizer, PSQM Director
