Buckden C of E Primary Academy
Buckden Church of England Primary Academy (Primary Academy Trust) is a vibrant and welcoming primary school. We pride ourselves on being a school that is at the heart of the local community, having strong links with our local parish church of St Mary’s and the local community of Buckden.
As a Church of England school we place an emphasis on the development of the whole child – both academically and spiritually. The school has a strong Christian ethos, underpinned by a core set of aims and values developed by our wider community.
Our school was rated Outstanding in July 2015, and we are continually striving to improve and ‘do things better’. A further monitoring report in 2019 recognised the work undertaken in early years and continued to recognise the school as Outstanding. Over the last few of years, the school has been continuing on its journey to be the very best we can be and has created a bespoke curriculum development around the Sustainable Development Goals.
We continued to work tirelessly on the development of the school for the benefit of all stakeholders. In 2017 the school formed and set up A1 Teaching School Alliance. Our primary focus is and will always be to continue to raise standards, whilst also endeavouring to provide a broader, stimulating and more engaging curriculum for everyone in our school. To give each and every child the best possible start to education that they can have.
After 3 years of extensive work across the school, we are proud to announce that we have were award the Dyslexic Friendly Schools Award in December 2021. There are only approximately 25 Main Stream Primary Schools in the whole of the UK and Ireland that hold this accreditation.
